The Story
Scarlett shouldn’t be able to kill anyone again. She’s already behind bars. But with a string of new bodies being discovered, the DNA evidence all points to Scarlett.
Detectives Reynolds and Torres face the impossible question: How do you stop a killer that never leaves her cell?
With the help of her twin daughters Ava and Maya, they get closer to the truth — only to discover that Scarlett was never meant to be captured.
The only rule — Scarlett always wins.
A killer behind bars — yet the bodies keep appearing. A crime that defies every rule of logic and investigation.
Two detectives. Twin daughters. A web of deception where every answer only opens a darker door.
Twists that rewrite everything. A finale that proves Scarlett was always three moves ahead of everyone.
Shadows of Innocence
About The Author
Born in Texas and shaped by an extraordinary childhood split between France and the United States, Christophe A. Patton brings a uniquely global perspective to his storytelling. His father’s service in the U.S. Army took the family abroad, nurturing in Christophe an early understanding of different worlds existing side by side — a theme that resonates through every page of Shadows of Innocence.
After graduating high school in 1984, Christophe enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as an electrician aboard the USS Saratoga (CV60). The discipline, teamwork, and resilience forged at sea remain the backbone of how he approaches every challenge — and every story he tells.
Now settled in Arizona, Christophe is a proud father of two boys. He finds restoration in the quiet life — tending his garden, perfecting his BBQ, and carving mountain trails on two wheels. An avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Las Vegas Golden Knights, he believes firmly that balance and staying grounded are the keys to a life well-lived.
Shadows of Innocence is his debut novel — and it is only the beginning.
